Since joining Galatasaray on loan, Victor Osimhen has proven why he’s one of the hottest strikers in world football.

Red-hot Victor Osimhen is now the leading goalscorer for Galatasaray in the 24/25 Turkish Süper Lig and across all competitions.

The Super Eagles striker only joined on loan from Italian side Napoli in the summer after a late bid from both Saudi Arabia and English Premier League giants Chelsea didn’t materialise.

Many were not pleased with Osimhen’s decision to move to Turkey from Italy. However, the 25-year-old is making the most of his time in a league where his hero Didier Drogba also made an impact.

Osimhen’s impressive numbers at Galatasaray

Osimhen’s start to life in Istanbul was not the perfect one, as the Nigerian struggled to find the back of the net in his first three games, but he still contributed three assists during that barren spell.

However, Osimhen did prove his credentials, scoring in big games, including what was effectively the winner in the Istanbul derby against Besiktas.

Since joining Galatasaray, Victor Osimhen has bagged six goals and provided two assists in six matches to become the team’s top goalscorer in the league.

The Nigerian is two goals ahead of closest rival Mauro Icardi who went off injured in the UEFA Europa League game against Tottenham.

Across all competitions, Victor Osimhen still leads the chart for Okan Buruk’s side, having bagged 10 goals and four assists in just nine appearances this season.

During the game against Tottenham Osimhen showed why he’s a highly rated hitman scoring two first half goals that helped Galatasaray to a 3-2 win over their London rivals.

Osimhen’s second goal of the night was a very impressive one as he showed superb striker’s instinct to guide the ball into the back of the net with a deft touch after a cross from ex-Napoli teammate Dries Mertens.

Three days later, Osimhen quickly followed up with another brilliant brace in the Süper Lig, scoring with two beautiful headers in a 3-2 victory over Samsunspor.

Overall, the former Lille man has been a joy to watch, as he’s a handful for defenders to cope with, and his bicycle kick against Antalyaspor is one of the contenders for goal of the season.

Osimhen to star for Nigeria’s Super Eagles

With the international break kicking in, Osimhen is expected to join the Super Eagles camp as they prepare for two crunch ties against Benin Republic and Rwanda.

Nigerians would be expecting that the reigning African Footballer of the Year brings his impressive club form to help the Super Eagles navigate these tricky ties.

Should Osimhen find the back of the net for the Super Eagles, he will move up to number two on Nigeria’s top 10 scoring chart, matching the legendary Segun Odegbami on 23 goals.

Nigeria play Benin Republic on Thursday, November 14th and Victor Osimhen is expected to lead the line.
