The Rivers State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief Tony Okocha on Friday issued APC membership card to Rivers State governor, Sir Similanaya Fubara.
Chief Okocha personally issued the membership card to Governor Fubara in the presence of Festus Keyamo the Aviation Minister and supporters of the governor at Government House in Port Harcourt.
Governor Fubara had on Tuesday announced his defection to the APC to his supporters at the Government House.
He said he defected to the APC as Mark of appreciation to President Tinubu for standing by him during political crisis on the State.
He urged his supporters to work towards realizing Tinubu’s 2027 Presidential ambition.
Governor Fubara had on Thursday emphasized his unwavering commitment to sustaining peace, stressing that meaningful development is impossible in an atmosphere of discord.
The governor who spoke during the commissioning of the 10.7-kilometre Egbeda–Omerelu Road constructed by his administration, the governor said Rivers State can only move forward when its people choose unity over division.
Governor Fubara urged all lovers of the State to shun disunity and embrace togetherness.
