The Honourable Minister of State for Defence, His Excellency Dr. Bello Muhammad Matawalle, paid a courtesy visit to the Theatre Command Headquarters of the Joint Task Force (North West), Operation FANSAN YAMMA (OPFY), on Friday, November 14, 2025.
During his visit, Dr. Matawalle, also known as Matawallen Maradun, commended the troops for their dedication, courage, and sacrifices in the fight against criminal elements in the region. He encouraged them to remain resilient, vigilant, and focused as efforts intensify to restore lasting peace and stability.
The Theatre Commander, Major General Warrah Bello Idris, welcomed the Minister and expressed gratitude for the visit, describing it as a reaffirmation of the Federal Government’s unwavering commitment to supporting ongoing operations in the North West.
Dr. Matawalle reiterated the Federal Government’s promise to provide necessary resources, logistics, and improved welfare to sustain operational momentum.
He also praised the leadership of the Theatre Command for the successes achieved so far and emphasized the importance of continued collaboration among all security agencies.
The visit included the presentation of souvenirs to the Minister, a briefing by the Theatre Commander on the ongoing activities of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, and an address to the troops in which the Minister expressed deep appreciation for their professionalism and committed service to the nation.
Captain David Adewusi, Media Information Officer for Operation FANSAN YAMMA, stated that the Minister’s visit was a significant morale boost for the troops, demonstrating the government’s commitment to their welfare and success.
