A Maiduguri-based herbal expert, Garba Maidawa, has called for an intensive and extensive research into the Holy Quran for cures to all “So-called” incurable ailments devastating mankind, asserting: “There is no ailment without cure.”
Speaking to Citizenship Daily in Maiduguri, Tuesday, August 4, Maidawa, referring to HIV/AIDS, queried furiously: “I’m profoundly baffled to hear mankind sayiing that there are ailments that have no cures.”
He suggested: “Mankind’s scientists should undertake intensive and extensive research into the Holy Quran and other Islamic scriptures on medicine; and also consult and collaborate with herbal experts and traditional medicine practitioners to find cures for every so-called ailments”
Maidawa argued that hypertension inflicted by grief and hopelessness about cure have killed more patients than the ailments claimed to be having no cure.
“When a physician gives his patient the impression that his ailment has no cure, where as the can be found, the patient gets knocked down by hopelessness and hypertension, and gradually languishes to death,” the herbal expert argued.
He appealed to government to fund extensive and intensive researches by medical doctors and scientists, with the collaboration of herbal experts and traditional medicine practitioners, to find cures to ailments.
