Represented by Barrister Abdullahi Garba Faskari, Secretary to the State, Radda said the need for the state government and stakeholders to come together and take quick action against the impending flooding becomes necessary.

Faskari said that predictions by NIMET indicated that there will be heavy flooding in 21 states of the federation including Katsina.

He disclosed that predictions by NimeT indicated that eight local governments out the 34 local areas of the state will be worst affected if the floods occured.

According to him, the eight local government areas are Jibia, Funtua, Kaita, Katsina, Bindawa, Bakori, Batsari and Daura government areas.

Citizenship Daily observed that relevant stakeholders invited to the meeting included ministries of environment, water resources, Katsina State Environmental Protection Agency and local Government Chairmen among others.
