From Sidi Ibrahim Kaulahi, Gusau

The Inspector General of Police, IGP, Olatunji Rilwan Disu in company of Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal who was represented by the SSG, Malam Abubakar Nakwada, has attended the funeral prayer of the three gallant Police officers who were killed while on official assignment to deactivate an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) suspected to be planted by bandits along Anka-Bagega road on Monday.

The funeral prayer of all the bodies of the three slain officers including OC EOD, SP Abdulrazak Musa Hassan, Inspector Auwal Ahmad and Inspector Murtala Musa, was led by the Chief Imam of the Zamfara State Police Command, CSP Suleiman Alhassan, in accordance  with Islamic rites.

Earlier, a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Yazid Abubakar expressed profound sorrow with a heavy heart over the tragic loss of the gallant officers who paid the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty while serving and protecting the nation.

“Their bravery, dedication, and unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and maintaining peace will never be forgotten. These courageous officers stood at the forefront of service, confronting danger with exceptional courage and professionalism. Their sacrifice is a testament to their patriotism and devotion to duty.

“We extend our deepest condolences to their families, loved ones, colleagues, and the entire service during this difficult period. The pain of losing such committed officers is immeasurable, and their absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of serving alongside them.

“These fallen heroes were more than officers, they were brothers, mentors, and defenders of our communities. Their selfless service and ultimate sacrifice remind us of the risks undertaken daily by security personnel in the pursuit of peace and security for all.

“As we mourn their passing, we also honor their legacy. Their courage will continue to inspire future generations, and their sacrifice will not be in vain. Zamfara Police Command will forever remember their service and dedication to the nation.

“We pray that Almighty God grants them eternal rest, comforts their families, and gives strength to their colleagues and all those affected by this tragic loss”, the statement said
