One of the kidnapped victims,Amina Adamu who was abducted alongside two other housewives along Takum-Katsina-Ala road in Takum LGA has escaped from the kidnappers’ den four weeks after.
A close relation, Mallam Maiwada, said Amina escaped while the kidnappers were asleep.
He said that, however, two other housewives and the daughter of a prominent General’s brother were still in captivity.
It was further gathered that two persons who took ransom for the release of the three women were trapped by their abductors.
Maiwada added that brother of a prominent General in Taraba, Mr Benjamin who was abducted alongside his wife and daughter were later released after an undisclosed ransom was paid.
However, his kidnappers did not allow his wife and daughter to leave.
This is happening when Takum residents are being faced with threats from kidnappers that operate along Takum-Katsina-Ala road and Takum-Kashimbilla road.
One of the residents, Bello Haruna, told our correspondent that, “It is very risky to travel along the two roads because of the kidnappers’ activities.
“I want to tell you that several people, mostly traders, had been kidnapped along the two roads and many of them are still in captivity,” he said.
When contacted, the Taraba State Police Public Relation Officer, DSP Kwache Gambo promised to get in touch with the Takum DPO over the incident before making any comment, but had not done so at the time of filing this report.
