The Cross River State Governor, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu has expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the directives to commence work from Calabar axis of Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway as well as the approval for the Construction of Calabar-Ebonyi-Benue-Kogi- Nasarawa-Abuja Superhighway as one of the signature projects of his ‘Renewed Hope administration’.
This information is contained in a letter dated 1st July,n2024 to express his gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for making Section 3A of the highway project traverse 11 Communities in Cross River State namely: Okpoko, Ikot Efiok-Ekpenyong, Ikoneto, Obot Eyo, Obot Akpang, Ekpri Adiabo, Ifako Okoyong, Ikot Eno, Aru Unayama, Njahasang, Okoyong Usang Abasi with a total length of 38KM alongside with the 92 KM from Calabar-Ebonyi-Benue-Kogi- Nasarawa-Abuja Superhighway also falls within the state.
Governor Otu also expressed delight that the two super projects will improve the connectivity and accessible to the state for boost of economic activities and enhance quality life for the people of the area.
The governnor maintained that the roads network will reform the economy for inclusive growth, promote agriculture, means of transportation and effective service delivery in line with the tenets of the’renewed hope’ agenda.
He said Tinubu’s commitment to ensure infrastructure development despite the challenges confronting the nation is laudable because this infrastructure will bring more positive impact to the entire Odukpani Local Government where governnor Otu originates.
He further extended greetings to the President and his dear wife on behalf of the people of Cross River State for the level of his intervention in the critical sectors of the economy.
He also recalled that few days ago, the Minister of Works was in Calabar for stakeholders engagement where he informed Cross Riverians that work On the Calabar axis of Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway in August, 2024.
