By Godwin Agia, in Jalingo
The Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas disclosed that his sister, Atsi Kefas, was killed by a police escort assigned to their mother.
The Governor made the disclosure during a speech marking his second year in office at the Banquet hall of the TY Danjuma Government House Jalingo.
According to the Governor, preliminary police reports indicate that Atsi Kefas died as a result of severe gunshot injuries sustained from shots fired by one of the police escorts in the vehicle.
“An investigation is currently ongoing to ascertain the circumstances surrounding her death and ensure justice is served,” he said.
The Governor paid tribute to his late sister, observing a minute’s silence in her honor.
He expressed his commitment to serving the people of Taraba, despite the personal tragedy, saying that the call to serve outweighed the pain.
The Governor’s revelation comes as he highlighted his administration’s achievements and future plans for the state.
He emphasized his commitment to transparency, accountability, and building unity across all communities in Taraba.
