Gombe state Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, is in the Kingdom of Morocco on a strategic investment mission to attract economic collaboration and foreign investment into Gombe State.
Accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising cabinet members, state legislators led by the Deputy Speaker, traditional rulers led by Emir of Gombe, heads of tertiary institutions, local government chairmen and key figures from the business community led by Chairman of Gombe Main Market Traders Association, Governor Inuwa Yahaya aims to present Gombe as a prime destination for investment, emphasizing its status as the best state in Nigeria for ease of doing business and its high rankings in socio-economic indices.
According to a statement his his media office, the Governor will also advertise the competitive advantages of Gombe State in order to seek medium and long term partnerships in some specific areas, especially those that will help create job opportunities, and enhance the overall economic prosperity of the people of the state.
During the stay in Morocco, the Gombe State delegation is scheduled to engage with various entrepreneurs and tour key industries and establishments across the country.
The objective of these interactions is to spotlight Gombe State’s immense potential in key sectors, including agriculture, aquaculture, solid minerals, livestock production, trade, hospitality and human resources in order to attract investors to explore opportunities in the state.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya and his team will also showcase several unique advantages of Gombe State, such as its sprawling 1,000-hectare industrial park, vast arable land, abundant water resources for irrigation farming, and potential for renewable energy development among others.
In addition to these promotional efforts, the Gombe State government is expected to sign Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with several Moroccan organizations. These agreements are expected to pave the way for collaborative projects and investments that will spur economic growth and development in Gombe State.
The Gombe Governor had recently held discussions with the Moroccan Ambassador to Nigeria, H. E Moha Ou Ali Tagma in Abuja, where the two leaders discussed areas of potential cooperation and mutual partnership between the Kingdom of Morocco and Gombe State, with the envoy pledging to facilitate connections between Moroccan entrepreneurs and relevant stakeholders in Gombe State to explore investment opportunities and areas of mutual cooperation.
He also extended an invitation to the Governor to visit the Kingdom of Morocco and interact with key stakeholders in Moroccan economic and social spheres, to forge stronger ties between the two entities and leverage each other’s strengths to drive economic growth and sustainable development.
