From Femi Mustapha, in Kaduna
The G-Films Academy has disclosed its readiness to unveil playlets, film “Breaking the Silence,” following the need to discourage cultism, drug abuse, and other social vices in the country.

The Chief Executive Officer, (CEO) of G-Films Academy, Nyam Terry, disclosed this in Kaduna on Friday during an interview with newsmen, said that the playlet aimed to sensitize the general public and the view to proffering amelioration to the increasing menace.

Terry explained that Films typically provide a relatable and accessible means of engaging large sections of the population while entertaining them, adding that the playlet depicts daily life experiences.

Stressing the importance of the film, the producer stressed that every individual possessed a unique narrative, whether positive or negative, and as such the Academy will continue to tell life-based stories to shape the society.
While calling on the government to invest in Projects like this as a means of encouraging youths and older individuals for societal development, he reiterated that crafting the narrative spanned over 16 years, evolving alongside the complexities of daily life.
He said, “Before now, Nigerian films dealing with the topic of this menace have mostly focused on the relationship between poverty and forced prostitution, while others depict the cruelty of debt bondage and how anxieties over economic mobility enable trafficking syndicates to recruit and traffic young women and girls.
Given that sex trafficking accounts for the largest number of trafficked people in Nigeria, the above theme appears justified.
“This playlet with 24 sessions, aimed at entertaining, educating, and preserving cultural values, breaking the culture of silence and seeks to promote awareness, entertaining and educate simultaneously”
