The Board Chairman of the Federal University of Health Science Teaching Hospital, Azare, Hon. Tukur Danfulani Maikatako, has in strong terms condemned what he described as politically motivated attacks on the personality of Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar.

In a statement signed by himself, Maikatako, who is the immediate past Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Zamfara State chapter, he said he found it necessary to inform Nigerians about detractors who make business by attacking other people’s integrity, especially politicians who have made it.
According to him, recent attacks against the former Governor of Zamfara State and now Senator representing Zamfara West at the National Assembly, Senator Yari have gone viral especially on social media with the attackers taking advantage of the quiet nature of their victim.
“As a first term Senator in the 10th National Assembly, Yari has ventured into the Senate’s politics by contesting for the Senate Presidency and would have won with landslide if he wasn’t stopped by high powered political architects, this strength he demonstrated within a short time shook the fabrics of his detractors who felt the former Zamfara Governor has more political viability in the future which they must have it destroyed.
“At the moment and in his frantic effort to seriously take a bold step against armed bandits and banditry, Yari is spending billions of naira in the purchase of fourteen latest fighter trucks to compliment both the Federal and Zamfara State governments efforts in the fight in his home state as recently disclosed by the Minister of State for Defence, Dr Bello Mohammed Matawalle at an event in Zamfara.
“Also having realised that education plays a vital role in the fight against banditry, he has commenced the full sponsorship of twenty thousand of children from the ages of seven to nineteen years mostly drawn from less privileged and orphanage homes who will enjoy full scholarship from Primary to Secondary schools across Zamfara and neighbouring States.
“He has a very strong and formidable home base where he supports individuals, groups, religous bodies, orphans and the less privileged people where he remains consistent in supporting and assisting an ever increasing number of beneficiaries with assorted foodstuffs,  education sponsorship, empowerment and cash gifts as well as quick intervention at times of disasters.
“Currently, he is building 3000 houses to victims of last year’s flood disaster in Gummi local government area of the state, he has bought and fully furnished a permanent APC state Secretariat in Zamfara at the cost of 400 million which is now housing all the party officials and activities.
“During my tenure as state APC Chairman then, Senator Abdul-Aziz Yari sponsored the Party E-registration through provision of all the required material, logistic and adhoc staff allowances.
“Same Senator Yari single handedly supported the party during the last Kaura Namoda South bye election by providing all the required logistic and strategy leading the party to victory despite being in opposition as the government was under PDP administration.
“The track records of the Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar’s continuous intervention and support which have remained visible are there for public scrutiny as the politician and a businessman has shown the world that, leaders are supposed to always carry the people along which is what many leaders don’t want and have therefore resorted to the attacks against Yari leveraging on the ignorance of Nigerians about him.
“We in Zamfara will always count on Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar as one of our best and most cherished leaders who’s serving his people and the nation.
“I also wish to appeal to all Nigerians especially the people of Zamfara State to desist from character assassination of our leaders particularly those who have our dear state and nation at heart and are always helping matters”, Maikatako has appealed.
