The Kaduna State Commissioner for the Ministry of Youth Development, Gloria Ibrahim, has highlighted the significance of the Demographic Dividend Roadmap, a document created by the youth of Kaduna State, in advancing youth development and empowering young people.
She noted that the roadmap aligns with Governor Uba Sani’s Renewed Hope Agenda and the ministry’s mandate to promote youth development.
The Commissioner made these remarks during a two-day technical session aimed at developing advocacy strategies and tools for implementing the Kaduna State Demographic Dividend Roadmap.
This initiative is supported by the Lafiya Project, sponsored by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO).
Commissioner Ibrahim emphasized the importance of data-driven development, citing Governor Sani’s focus on the need for accurate data to inform effective planning and decision-making.
She revealed that the Ministry of Youth Development is collaborating with the Bureau of Statistics to establish a comprehensive youth data system for Kaduna State.
Additionally, Commissioner Ibrahim emphasized the importance of inclusivity, particularly for youths with disabilities, and stressed the need to collect data on this group to ensure effective development and empowerment.
She expressed her gratitude for the partnership with LAFIYA, USAID, UKAID, and other organizations, assuring that the ministry will prioritize the implementation of the Demographic Dividend Roadmap for the benefit of citizens and youth in the state.
The Commissioner stated that the strategic documents produced from the sessions are both practical and impressive, and the ministry plans to implement them effectively, ensuring they benefit the people of Kaduna State.
