The Group Managing Director, GMD of the Benue Investment and Property Company Limited, BIPC Dr. Raymond Asemakaha on has stressed that the vision of the company remains to turn the Sta te from a consumption-based economy into a manufacturing powerhouse of the nation.
Dr. Asemakaha who said this on Thursday at the official commissioning of the BIPC Bakery in Gboko, traditional home of the Tiv Nation, explained thay the opening of the factory in Gboko is a milestone of economic revitalization for the state and a clear demonstration of their commitment to inclusive development.
He said the bakery is a giant step in that direction, focusing on two core areas of stabilizing Market Prices, as well as creating real jobs.
Said he, “we have seen in Makurdi, the BIPC Bakery’s presence has introduced healthy competition, ensuring that high-quality, nutritious bread becomes affordable for every family in Gboko and the surrounding communities.
“I am proud to announce that this facility alone has created direct and indirect jobs-over 680 jobs in two(2) years, for our young bakers, our sales team, our distributors, and our local suppliers.These jobs mean income, dignity, and a better future for many familics right here in Gboko.
“This facility is part of the first phase of BIPC’s expansion across Benue, solidifying Gboko’s position as a major industrial and commercial hub, second only to the state capital. And the next phrase is Otukpo which all modalities are already in place.
“The opening of this bakery is a testament to the fact that when government and a determined team like BIPC partner, development is rapid and visible. Our commitment to the people of Benue is unwavering.
“We will continue to roll out projects in construction, manufacturing, and other sectors to ensure that all 23 Local Government Areas feel the positive economic impact of a renewed Benue under the leadership of Governor Hyacinth lormem Alia.
“I want to thank Governor for providing the unwavering support and visionary leadership that has made this project, and many others a reality. Your commitment to industrializing Benue State is what drives us forward every single day.
“To the people of Gboko, this bakery is yours. We urge you to own it, protect it, and patronize it. Let the sweet aroma of freshly baked bread be the smell of progress and prosperity for this great community”.
The State Commissioner for Industry, Trade/Investment Manasseh Alumo Orpin reiterated government drive to make the State a commercial hub through the revitalization and establishment of industries.
