Benue State Government have uncovered over 4, 000 musroom schools operating in the State.
The Chief Press Secretary to Governor Hyacinth Alia, Tersoo Kula who disclosed this to newsmen yesterday at Government House, highlighted the achievements of the Governor in the educational sector.
He said the administration has stabilized the educational sector by stalling statewide strike by teachers through negotiations and dialogue, adding that, 38 months of earned allowances of staff of Moses Orshio Adasu University, Makurdi formerly Benue State University was also paid.
Kula further said over 9,700 primary schools teachers have been engaged to boost primary education learning, adding the ongoing rehabilitation and rescucitation of 16 Government colleges in the State while 225 schools are undergoing renovation and reconstruction.
Said he: “Government have continually trained teachers in ICT, established Quality Assurance Bureau, payment of bursary allowances to law students of 200,000 naira to 131.
“Government in 2023/2024 paid WAEC fees to 8,119, NECO 8, 979 and 1547 for NABTECH. Benue State Univesiry of Science and Technology in Ihugh, Vandeikya LGA whose license has been secured already and appointment of principal officers made by the Governor, has taken off”.
