From Joseph Uchenna, in Makurdi

Deputy Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly Hon Danladi Ogenyi has exuded confidence in the new Speaker Hon Alfred Emberga to succeed.

Hon Ogenyi who said during an interview with newsmen on Tuesday that she enjoys a harmonious, cordial working relationship with the new speaker, described him as a wonderful personality as well as gender friendly.
She also, said that Emberga is a transparent, principled and disciplined person, adding, ‘he consults me always on issues concerning the house’.
She said, “my relationship with the new speaker Alfred Emberga is a wonderful one. He is gender friendly. Since he assumed office, we have a cordial working relationship. He has always consulted me in terms of taking decisions concerning the assembly. This the first time we are seeing a transparent leadership of the assembly
“I expect all members of the assembly to cooperate with the new speaker, support him and I pray for unity. Already he is doing well and the more support we give him, the better his performance. So, I expect all members to give him the maximum support to lead us beyond our expectation. The new speaker is a man who is sincere and disciplined.
I am confident that under the him, the house will make laws that will improve the lives of Benue people. I enjoy a cordial relationship with the other female member of the house Mrs Becky Orpin(we are like mother and daughter) and other female appointees in this government like the SSG who a simple and intelligent woman.
“I am planning a visit to the first Lady Sen Oluremi Tinubu with all female appointees to thank her for coming to the State to sympathize with us over the attack on Yelwata Community and the support he gave to the State”.
The Deputy Speaker intimated on her effort to mobilize her constituents on the ongoing Continous Voters Registration
According to her, ‘I have starting mobilizing people in the 10 council wards of Ado. I have asked that all our supporters go down to the INEC office and renew their PVC which is their power to vote our President, Governor and myself for a second term in office in 2027. They raised the issue of mobility and requested for 10 motorcycles to convey them for the registration.
“But I have decided to get an 18 seater bus to convey in addition to 10 motorcycles for our coordinators because we still maintain our 2023 structure and they are the same people we will use in 2027”.
