Bande to chair 1st UDUS media conference

Former United Nations General Assembly President, Prof Tijjani Muhammad-Bande, is set to chair the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto’s first Mass Communication International Conference scheduled to start on June 7th.

The conference will begin with a pre- Conference lecture by Prof Fatma El-Sayed of Cairo University Egypt scheduled for Sunday June 7th at 1pm,

Dr Danladi Bako OON, the Chairman of the Organising Committee conveyed this in a statement on Thursday.

Bande who was at one time the Vice Chancellor of Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto is delighted to be given the honour of chairing the first International Conference on Media and its intersection with Artificial intelligence in an ever-changing digital world.The opening ceremony is scheduled for Monday June 8th at the University Auditorium and according to the Vice Chancellor who is the chief host “We are very ready to host the international academic community”.
The Organizing Committee informed the media that the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the University Governing Council Professor Attahiru Jega will be in attendance as well at the opening ceremony along with his council members.
Highlight of the conference is the Keynote lecture by double Fulbright scholar Professor Kehbuma Langmia of Howard University, Washington DC United States of America.

The theme of the Conference is “Media and National Development in the Era of Artificial intelligence” and this will set the trajectory for robust intellectual discussions by lead paper Presenters and panelists drawn from different universities from Nigeria and stakeholders from the Nigerian society.

It is expected that the department of Mass Communication of the host University will also unveil the maiden edition of its journal titled ALKALAMI Journal of Communication and Media Studies.

The four day promises to be memorable and fulfilling for visitors and the academic community at large.
