From Femi Mustapha in Kaduna
Apostle Yakubu Yusuf, the Senior Pastor of the House of Purpose Ministry in U/Sunday Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna, emphasized the importance of love, peace, and forgiveness during the festive season.
He shared this message during a sermon marking the 2025 Christmas celebrations in Kaduna.
Drawing inspiration from the Book of Matthew 1:18-20, Apostle Yakubu reminded the congregation of the miraculous and humble birth of Jesus Christ, highlighting its significance in the Christian faith.
He spoke about God’s unconditional love, referencing John 3:16, which states, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
Apostle Yakubu urged the congregation to reflect this love among themselves, asserting that love is the foundation of the Christian faith.
He emphasized that Christmas is a time for reflection, love, and forgiveness, encouraging everyone to emulate the love and compassion demonstrated by Jesus Christ.
He reminded them that their forgiveness is a fundamental aspect of the Christian faith and urged them to let go of grudges and forgive one another.
The congregation listened intently as he spoke about the importance of peace, citing the words of Jesus Christ: “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid” (John 14:27).
Apostle Yakubu applauded the peaceful atmosphere currently enjoyed in Kaduna and thanked God and Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani for this achievement.
His message was clear: Christmas is a time for love, peace, and forgiveness, and as Christians, they are called to embody these values in their daily lives. He encouraged the congregation to spread love and kindness to those around them, just as Jesus did during His earthly ministry.
As the sermon concluded, Apostle Yakubu led the congregation in a prayer, asking God to bless them with love, peace, and forgiveness and to guide them on their journey through life.
