The forum of Tiv political appointees in Taraba State has, Wednesday, disassociated itself from the Kuteb/Tiv Political Coalition, describing the group as a mere social construct that does not reflect the diversity and independence of thought within Tiv communities.
The group made this known at a press conference in Jalingo, citing the coalition as the enemies Tiv Nation.
According to Philip Ananum, leader of the forum, the coalition’s claim to represent the entire Tiv people is misleading and unrealistic.
“It is unrealistic to suggest that such a people can be confined to a singular political movement or coalition especially one that appears to be evolving without broad consultation among key Tiv stakeholders.
“We reaffirm our unflinching support for  his administration and wish to place on record that, based on his demonstrated fairness, goodwill, and performance, the Tiv people will stand solidly behind him in 2027 and beyond,” he said.
The forum also commended the governor’s open-door policy and sincere engagement with Tiv traditional and community leaders, particularly his recent consultations with the Tor Tiv (V) regarding the plight of displaced Tiv communities in Southern Taraba.
“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to His Excellency, Dr. Agbu Kefas, for his inclusive governance and for appointing several Tiv sons and daughters into political offices in his MOVING FORWARD administration,” Ananum said.
