From Femi Mustapha, in Kaduna

The Senator representing Kaduna South Senatorial District, Sunday Marshall Katung, has offered full scholarship to 5 students of Bethel Baptist High School who were among the students abducted by bandits in the school in 2021.

The abducted students regained their freedom and subsequently graduated from the school, except the 5 students who had yet to complete their studies in the school.

However, Senator Katung granted the scholarship to the students during a fundraising programme organized by the Kaduna Baptist Conference for the rebuilding of the Bethel Baptist High School in Kaduna.

The Senator pledged to undertake the payment of the student’s tuition fees from secondary school up to the university level.

According to him, “From today, my education foundation will take full responsibility for their education from now up to the University level.”

Recall that bandits, in the early hours of July 5th, 2021, invaded the school and kidnapped the students. They were subsequently, released after days of negotiations.
