The General Overseer of Christ Evangelical and Life Intervention Ministry, Kaduna, Pastor (Dr.) Yohanna Buru has made a generous donation to the newly constructed Tudun-Biri Central Mosque in the Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The donation included trees and over a hundred plastic kettles to strengthen Muslim/Christian relations and foster religious tolerance.

Pastor Buru presented the donation during the grand opening of the mosque in Tudun Biri today (Friday).

The event also marked the first anniversary of the tragic drone attack on the community, which claimed the lives of several worshippers who were celebrating the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

Special prayers were offered for the victims, and the new mosque was officially opened for prayers.

In his address, Pastor Dr. Yohanna Buru explained that the church’s visit was intended to support the Muslim community and promote peace and harmony between Christians and Muslims in the region.

He emphasized that the church’s contribution is aimed not only at providing essential materials for the mosque but also at helping to strengthen the bond between the two faiths, thereby boosting peace and religious tolerance.

“We must remember that we are one family under God. Both Christians and Muslims follow holy scriptures—the Bible and the Quran—and we share common beliefs in paradise and hell. Our ancestry traces back to Adam and Eve, and as such, we must live as brothers and sisters, supporting one another.”

The pastor also highlighted the church’s longstanding tradition of assisting mosques affected by disasters such as fires and storms, providing much-needed aid during times of hardship.

The ceremony today marked one year since the devastating attack on Tudun Biri, a tragic event that claimed many lives as worshippers gathered to celebrate the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

Expressing gratitude to the church, Mallam Ibrahim Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, who received the donation, thanked Pastor Dr. Yohanna Buru for his generous gifts, which included historical trees, prayer mats, and plastic kettles for Muslim worshippers.

Mallam Ibrahim stated that the community had gathered to offer special prayers for the victims of the bombing and to officially open the new mosque for use. “Exactly one year ago today, this tragedy struck during the celebration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

“We are deeply grateful that, on this occasion, our Christian brothers have shown such solidarity and brought these valuable gifts for our mosque,” he said.

He also urged Nigerians to continue praying for peace and stability across the country. “We must all work together in protecting the peace and unity of Nigeria,” he added. “Let us show patriotism in every way we can to uphold the dignity of our nation.”
