Several countries have offered to host a potential meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, Xinhua has quoted local media to have reported on Monday, citing Russian presidential aide, Yuri Ushakov.
“We have already received several offers from various countries on this matter,” Ushakov told reporters, adding that Moscow will not specify what countries have offered to host the potential meeting to avoid influencing future developments.
“Such offers have been and are being made,” he confirmed, according to a report by Xinhua News Agency bulletin monitored in Abuja.
During a speech in Phoenix of the U.S. state of Arizona on Sunday, Trump said that the Russian leader conveyed that he wanted to meet with him as soon as possible.
Trump also said it was necessary to end the ongoing war, the report said.
Putin is also reported to have said, Thursday, that he was ready to meet the newly elected U.S. president any time, noting there would be many issues they could discuss.
