From Femi Mustapha, in Kaduna

The Pharmacy Council of Nigeria (PCN) has inducted 26 graduates of Pharmaceutical Sciences from Kaduna State University (KASU) into the Council as Pharmacists.

The graduates were inducted at the 9th Oath-taking and Induction Ceremony held at the University on Friday, with representatives from PCN, Vice Chancellor, Academics, faculty heads, lecturers, parents, and others present at the event.

In his welcome address, the Dean of the Faculty, Dr Musa A. Garba, said that the essence of the Oath-taking is to usher in the graduates into the profession to be officially identified as Pharmacists.

He applauded the graduates for staying committed and dedicated to the course of study throughout the seven-year journey, noting that their determination and hard work have brought them success.

The Faculty Dean however, admonished them to remain faithful to the ethics of the Profession, adding that the most important is saving lives and not chasing selfish gains.

“This oath-taking is only the first step to usher you into the Profession as Pharmacists. You still have a long way to go after now but ensure that you do your best to become good ambassadors of Kaduna State.

“Be committed, be honest, compassionate and follow the ethics of the Profession wherever you go. Remember that you are called to save lives, do not use it as a means of money making.

Dr Musa also expressed his gratitude to the Members of the Council, Academics and many others who made out time to grace the event, praying for God’s guidance upon their lives.

Speaking also, the Representative of the Graduands, Samanja Miracle James his gratitude to the Faculty Administration and the entire management of the University for the guidance, the support and encouragement.

He noted that the seven years journey wasn’t easy but full of rough patches to the point he almost gave up but had to rely on the encouragements from loved ones to keep going.

On this note, he admonished the Students still in Pharmacy school to chase their dreams, learn from their experiences, remain hardworking and committed

“The journey of seven years has not been easy but we made it, all thanks to God. We have had sleepless nights, impromptu tests, long hours of exhausting practicals, unstable shedules and we almost gave up.

“But we are here today and we can only thank God for the success. We also thank our Lecturers, the Dean, our parents, friends and everyone who supported us to this very moment, we say thank you.

“To my fellow inductees, I know we’ve been through a whole lot in Pharmacy school but that’s just a phase, there is more outside because the real battle is outside.

“Do not give up, don’t give in, be honest, remain hardworking and committed and lastly, maintain a distinction wherever you find yourself and God will help us all.
