A 20 year old man, Abubakar Abdu of Gengle village in Mayo-belwa Local Government area of Adamawa state has been apprehended by the police for alleged murder.
Disclosing the development through a press release in Yola, Spokesman of the Command, Superindendent of Police Suleiman Nguroje said that the suspect was arrested by the police detectives on 10th November 2024 for stabbing to death one Azumi Abubakar, 30 years old.
“The suspect had on 7/11/2024 at about 0300hrs broke into the house of the victim and stole some quantity of maize while in an attempt to escape ,the victim sighted, identified and called the suspect by his name.
“Upon realizing that he was noticed, the suspect immediately attacked the victim by stabbing her with a knife as a result she died.
“The arrest follows the complaint received from the victim’s husband and he (suspect) will be charged to court as soon as investigation is completed”, the release assured.
While advising the public to report any suspicious movements in their domain, the police command charged people to be extra vigilant in their various activities.
