The Kaduna State government, in its bid to ensure adequate health workers in its health sector, especially among nurses and midwives, has commissioned the Pambeguwa Campus of the College of Nursing and Midwifery.
Speaking at the occasion, State Governor Senator Uba Sani said his administration is investing in the Pambeguwa Campus of the College of Nursing and Midwifery because it recognizes the importance of having well-trained healthcare professionals to meet the healthcare needs of the growing population.
Gov. Sani, who was represented by his Deputy Dr, Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, said his administration has prioritized the health sector, and the Institution is a testament to our commitment to improving healthcare and making significant progress in health indices.
The Governor added that as a state, his government is investing in this institution because we recognize the importance of having well-trained healthcare professionals to meet the healthcare needs of our growing population.

“The rehabilitation of this school signifies a milestone in the history of healthcare education, symbolizing our commitment to excellence as well as our determination to provide the best possible education to our future nurses.
“Nursing and Midwifery is a noble profession that requires dedication, compassion, and a great deal of knowledge.
” It is not only a job but a calling, a calling to serve humanity and make a positive difference in people’s lives. And today, I am certain that we are creating a pathway for the next generation of nurses to answer that call.
“This school will not only provide the foundation for nursing and midwifery education but also serve as a hub for innovation and critical thinking. It will equip our students with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel and meet the ever-evolving demands of the healthcare industry.
” It will also foster a spirit of lifelong learning, encouraging continuous updates of knowledge while providing the needed push to stay at the forefront of healthcare advancements.

Speaking earlier, the State Commissioner of Health Umma K. Ahmed opined that the day signifies more than just the opening of a campus, saying it represents the government’s commitment to improving the quality of healthcare services by investing in the training and capacity building of nurses and midwives, who are the backbone of healthcare delivery.
According to her, the establishment of the campus aligns perfectly with the broader objective of addressing the challenges of inadequate healthcare professionals, especially in rural areas.
“It will provide aspiring nurses and midwives with the necessary skills, knowledge, and practical experience to deliver high-quality healthcare, particularly to underserved communities.
“With the expansion of our training capacity, we will also contribute to the global healthcare workforce, ensuring that Kaduna State is at the forefront of health service delivery.
“Furthermore, this campus serves as a beacon of hope, a place where young minds can pursue their dreams of becoming healthcare professionals, contributing to the well-being of our people, and positively impacting society.
