Quack doctor arrested in Nasarawa over patient’s death

Police operatives have arrested a 35 years old quack medical doctor, Isa Usman for allegedly causing the death of patient in Iyayi village of Kadarko District of Keana Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
Ramhan Nansel, the State Police Command Public Relations Officer revealed this in a statement available to newsmen in Lafia.
He said “the Command Operatives
attached to Kadarko Division on 3/9/2024 at about 2108hrs arrested one Quack Medical Doctor Isa Usman 35 years at Iyayi Village, Kadarko district of Keana LGA.”
He explained that “the suspect arrest followed procuring and administering Procaine Injection on one Zaki Yaka Ajohol which led to his death in the area.”
According to the Command PPRO, preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect whose level of education is primary school leaving certificate hails from Pindi village of Akko LGA of Gombe State, and claimed to have been trained at Asibitin Yusuf in Agyaragu, Obi LGA of the State.
The command said the suspect has confessed to have for the past three days procured and was administering procaine injection on his victim to treat typhoid.
The PPRO explained that on the fourth day, he administered the same dose of injection which made the victim fell immediately after and he became unconscious.
When he was rushed to primary health care at Akeleku in the State, he was confirmed dead.
The Police further said some drugs and other medical equipment were recovered from the suspect during investigations.
The Police said it would conduct further investigation and prosecute the suspect in a court of law.
