The National Agency for the Prohibition of Human Trafficking in Person (NAPTIP), Katsina State State Command, has rescued 70 victims of Human Trafficking.
According a statement by Musa Aliyu, the Commander of NAPTIP Katsina State Command on Sunday, those rescued comprised of 43 females who are between the ages of 18 to 30 years and 27 males aged between 20 to 35 years respectively.
He said that the victims that were apprehended were counselled and advised against the danger and ills of human trafficking.
“While we fed and accmmodated them, we verified their health status and treated them of different ailments,” he said.
Aliyu further noted that those apprehended were from different geopolitical zones of the country.
He said that “preliminary Investigation revealed that most of recruiters are from the state origin of the victims while some of the recruiters are from countries where the victims wants to go”.
The Commander thanked the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), at Jibia Border Command for their support and cooperation to NAPTIP in the area.
Aliyu also appreciated all the security agencies in the state in their collaboration with NAPTIP.
