Nasarawa State Police command foil robbery, neutralize 2 criminals

Two suspected armed robbers have lost their lives during a gun duel with the personnel of police force in Karshi area of karu local government of nasarawa state.
A statement by the public relations officer of the state police command Ramhan Nansel said the suspects died in an operation in collaboration with the Nigeria Army.
The statement said a distress was received by the Karshi Division of the police command on armed robbery operation.
“On 29/6/2024 at about 0310hrs, a distress call was received by the Divisional Police officer, Karshi, about an ongoing armed robbery operation around Karshi by-pass.”
He said upon receipt of the information, police in collaboration with military  swiftly moved to the scene an on sighting security agents, the criminals opened fired on them where a gun duel ensued.
“Consequently, two of the criminals were fatally injured and rushed to the hospital, where they subsequently died while receiving treatment and others escaped with bullet wounds.
He further said the general area was combed by the combined team where two suspects namely 27 years Yusuf Lawal  a resident of Nyanya FCT and Hamza Abdullahi of orange market Mararaba whom both hail from Bauchi state were arrested in connection to the commission of the crime.
According to the statement exhibits recovered from the suspects include 3 cartridges, 3 Cutlasses, 19 handsets of different brands, 2 Laptops, 9 pairs of shoes, a wrist watch, 1 MP 3 player, 1 power bank, 3 torches, 3 bags, 2 ear pods, a smoother, sachets of Milk and Milo and the sum of two thousand-six hundred Naira.
He said the state commissioner of police Umar Nadada commended the officers that carried out the operation and urged them to sustain the tempo.
