…Gov Kefas describes it as black Sunday
From Godwin Agia, in Jalingo
The Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas has expressed shock on the death of six women from a car crash.
The governor immediately described the news as heartbreaking and devastating.
A statement issued to newsmen in Jalingo by the governor’s Senior Special Adviser on Media and Digital Communications, Mr. Emmanuel Bello also swiftly consoled with the family of the victims, noting that it was a black Sunday for the state.
Kefas further stated that the circumstances of their death were regrettably tragic as they were returning from the women’s wing CAN Conference which ended yesterday in Gembu, Sardauna Local Government Area of Taraba state.
He prayed for the repose of their souls, and pledged his administration continuous commitment to safer roads, especially within areas that posed great threats to life.
“I have already directed that local government chairmen to maintain existing roads with proper traffic controls, signals, and basic repairs.
“I would work hard to minimize the sad occurrences of road mishaps occasioned by bad roads in the state,” he said.
The Governor also condoled with the CAN leadership, WOWICAN ,and the entire Christian community in the state and the country at large.
