Several supporters of the All Progressives Congress, (APC) were reportedly attacked and injured, while their vehicles were damaged ahead of Governor Dikko Umaru Radda’s 2027 re-election campaign flag-off in Katsina State on Wednesday.

The incident occurred as supporters travelled to Funtua, where the governor was scheduled to launch his campaign in Katsina State Southern Senatorial Zone.

According to reports, suspected political thugs attacked their vehicles while they were travelling through Malumfashi on their way to the event.

According to the victims quoted by Daily Trust , the attackers used stones and other objects to smash vehicle windows and assault passengers.

The attacks reportedly left several vehicles damaged and many supporters injured during the episode.

The victims called on the authorities to investigate the incident and bring those responsible to justice.

They also urged security agencies to improve security around campaign venues and along major routes to prevent similar occurance.

Despite the reported attacks, Governor Radda went ahead with the planned campaign flag-off.

The event is part of his statewide campaign to present his administration’s achievements and development plans to residents across Katsina State’s three senatorial Districts comprising 34 local government areas and 361 wards ahead of his bid for reelection as Governor in 2027.
