Zamfara Information Technology Development Agency (ZITDA) has announced completion of preparations for immediate deployment of internet facilities to be connected with Gusau International Airport.
The Executive Secretary of the Zamfara State Information Technology Development Agency (ZITDA), Dr. Habib Gajam made this known during an assessment visit to Gusau International Airport as part of its preparations for the commencement of commercial operations on October 1st.
Conducting an assessment of the facility ahead of the immediate deployment of uninterrupted internet connectivity, Dr. Gajam said the agency’s responsibility goes beyond simply providing internet access but building the digital infrastructure that enables modern government, seamless public services and a connected Zamfara.
According to him, the airport deployment will provide connectivity across critical areas, including the domestic and international departure and arrival terminals, protocol and VIP lounges, control tower, fire station and other operational facilities.
Dr. Gajam further informed that passengers will also enjoy free internet access, ensuring that connectivity is part of their experience from the moment they arrive at the airport.
“This initiative is part of the broader digital infrastructure expansion programme of the Zamfara State Government, driven by His Excellency, Governor Dauda Lawal, and his vision of transforming Zamfara into a more digitally enabled, efficient and connected State.
“The first phase of this expansion has already been completed, covering Government House, Jibril Bala Yakubu Secretariat Complex, State House of Assembly Complex, State High Court Complex, Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital, College of Nursing Sciences, Gusau and Zamfara Internal Revenue Service.
“As we prepare to welcome commercial flights to Gusau International Airport, we are equally preparing the digital infrastructure required to support a modern airport”, Dr. Gajam has reiterated.
