The Taraba State Government has launched the Taraba Solid Minerals Investment Facilitation Desk as part of efforts to attract investors and position the state as a leading mining destination in Nigeria.

The Desk was unveiled over the weekend during the maiden Taraba State Solid Minerals Investment Roundtable held at the Banquet Hall, TY Danjuma House, Jalingo.
Governor Agbu Kefas said the initiative is a deliberate step to coordinate investment, government agencies, and host communities under one platform.
He explained that the Desk will handle geological information, land access, business support, security, infrastructure, and community engagement to reduce bottlenecks for investors.
Kefas noted that with Federal Government support, Taraba is set to turn its mineral resources into bankable investments that will create jobs and generate sustainable revenue for the state.
He assured investors of the state’s commitment to security and ease of doing business, saying relevant agencies have been mandated to work with the new Desk to fast-track approvals and compliance.
“I have directed relevant MDAs to set up the Taraba Solid Minerals Investment Facilitation Desk a one-stop platform to coordinate investors, government agencies, and host communities.
“Our goal is clear: mining must deliver real benefits to host communities, jobs for our youth, and lasting revenue for Tarabans,” he said.
The Honourable Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr. Dele Alake, who was the special guest, urged investors to tap into Taraba’s mineral resources and partner with the state government.
Dr. Alake said the Federal Government is committed to supporting states with clear policies and investment frameworks to develop the solid minerals sector.
