The Tsafe local government council in collaboration with Tsafe and ‘Yandoto emirate councils of Zamfara State have jointly pledged all needed support for the Millennium Development Center (MDC) in strong partnership with Sultan Foundation For Peace and Development (SFPD) to locate the under immunized and zero-dose children with a view to capture them in a routine immunization.
The assurance was given by both the representatives of the emirates andTsafe local government council Chairman, Alhaji Aliyu Abubakar Aliyu and the LGA Health Director, Sulaiman Musa respectively during the launching of the project.
Emirs of Tsafe and that of ‘Yandoto were represented by Alhaji Aliyu Abubakar Aliyu and were committed to support the project through noncompliance resolution efforts, reassured that traditional leaders commitment to support the project especially in the area of sensitization of parents to allow their children take routine immunization as well as work with MDC to resolve noncompliance.
Abubakar Aliyu further informed that, all district heads are already directed to enforce the order on their objects and Chief Imams to support the Z-TRACE project with a view the achieve its goals.
“I am conveying a royal message to all our esteemed religious leaders for their being closest figures to the people to propagate in their Friday sermons the targeted goals of the MDC and SFPD to achieve easy track of zero-dose and under immunized children.
Earlier, during the launching ceremony of the Z-TRACE centres and the project in Tsafe, the Executive Director of the Millennium Development Center (MDC), Dr. Ahmad Hashim, expressed gratitude for understanding the objectives of the project, strategies for implementation and roles of every stakeholder in the project.
Dr. Hashim commended representatives of LGA Chairman and 14 District Heads of Tsafe as well as Director of Health and other key LGA team who reiterated and renewed their commitments to providing adequate support and cooperation to the success of the project.
“I appreciated SFPD and GAVi for the funding of the project and also salute support of Zamfara State Government and Tsafe LGA for their support in providing enabling ground for smooth conduct of the project.
“I called on Traditional and religious leaders to join hands with MDC to effectively reduce burden of zero dose and under immunized children in the LGA”.
In his remarks, representative of the Chairman Tsafe local government council who is the Director of Health Tsafe LGA, Sulaiman Musa, said the local government council stood firm to ensure the success of the project.
