  • Declare support for Gov. Radda’s second term

By Mohammed Danlami

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Katsina State, Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi Radda, has declared support for the Presidential candidacy of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the opposition African Democratic Congress, ADC in the forthcoming 2027 presidential election.

Dr Mustapha Abdullahi Radda

Dr Radda, in a position paper, announced his decision along with that of his associates to queue behind Atiku Abubakar of the ADC, even while they declare their loyalty to the APC and the re-election bid of the Katsina State Governor, Mal. Dikko Umaru Radda.

Mustapha Radda, a former National Executive Member of the APC and key APC stakeholder in Katsina State said he and his colleagues in the APC are convinced that Atiku’s campaign programmes promise to address numerous challenges in Katsina and the whole country.

“After wide consultations and careful consideration of the developmental needs of our state and nation, I publicly declare my support for His Excellency, (HE), Governor Dikko Umaru Radda for a second term as Governor of  Katsina State in 2027 and  HE, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the Presidential Candidate  of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), for the 2027 Presidential Election Inshah Allah,” Radda said in a statement.

Giving reasons in support of his decision to back Radda and Atiku, Radda said “Since assumption of office in 2023, Governor Dikko Radda’s administration has recorded remarkable achievements in key sectors which have impacted positively on the lives of our people.

These, he cited, include improvements in security, infrastructural development, works, housing, transportation, agriculture, health, education, information and technology. employment, staff welfare, human capital development, among others.

“In view of these efforts, we want Governor Radda to continue to consolidate on these gains to accelerate more development across the 34 Local Government Areas of Katsina State,” he said.

In respect of the Presidency he said Nigeria has continued to face insecurity, decay in infrastructure, lopsided job appointment opportunities, economic and social challenges under the current administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the APC.

“Following extensive engagement, I and my supporters are convinced that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has a vision focused on security, economic recovery, job creation, education, financing, and national integration.

“Key areas of his proposed agenda include review of security architecture, tackling hard economic situations, fuel policy for economic stability, trade facilitation including border management, and improved access to education through student support schemes,” Radda said.

He noted that he remains a full and loyal card-carrying member of the APC, and had previously served as a National Executive Member of the party, and still remains an APC stakeholder in Katsina State and at the nation at large.

“The declaration I made is my personal, patriotic decision as a Nigerian citizen and a stakeholder of APC who is committed to the progress and unity of Katsina State and Nigeria in general.

“I fervently believe my decision will not in any way affect or tamper or cause any ill- feeling among any group or people or religion,” he said.

He added: “I respectfully, call on all members of the APC and indeed all citizens of Federal Republic of Nigeria; young and old, men and women to join hands in supporting Governor Dikko Radda  for continuity in Katsina, and HE.Alhaji Atiku Abubakar for President in 2027. because of their competence.

“Let us prioritize security, development, peace, and unity above all other considerations,” Mustapha Radda said.
