From Abdullahi Shugaba, in Katsina

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has assured Malumfashi and Kafur stakeholders of his administration’s continued commitment to infrastructure, security, economic empowerment and other development needs.

Governor Radda gave the assurance while receiving a delegation of political, youth, religious and community leaders from Malumfashi/Kafur, led by Hon. Bature Umar Masari, at the Government House, Katsina

The Governor thanked the delegation for the visit and appreciated the confidence and support expressed by the people of the constituency.

He said his relationship with political stakeholders from Malumfashi and Kafur dates back many years, recalling their shared political experiences from the era of former President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.

Governor Radda noted that the two communities have continued to occupy an important position in the political history of Katsina State, particularly because of their significant contribution to the electoral process.

“Today, Allah has blessed us with leadership under the APC, with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the federal level, the Governor, Senators, Members of the State House of Assembly and Local Government Chairmen. We are all working together for the development of Katsina State,” he said.

The Governor commended Hon. Bature Masari and the delegation for their support, stressing that the visit demonstrated their commitment to the progress of Katsina State.

He said his administration remained committed to serving every part of the state without discrimination, adding that development projects were being implemented based on the needs of the people.

“We do not have any state better than Katsina. Whatever we are doing, we are doing it for Katsina and for the people of Katsina State,” Governor Radda said.

Governor Radda assured the delegation that he would remain committed to the trust and confidence placed in him by the people.

“I cannot forget the good things you have done for me. I assure you that I will not betray your trust,” he said.

The Governor said his administration had always sought Allah’s guidance in its leadership responsibilities and had continued to implement its development blueprint with the objective of bringing meaningful change to the people.

He explained that the government deliberately structured several interventions around the 361 wards of the state to ensure that development reaches the grassroots.

“Anything we are doing, we are doing it through the wards of every local government because that is where the people who voted for us are,” he said.

Governor Radda said the People’s Budget initiative was part of the administration’s strategy of giving communities a stronger voice in identifying and implementing development priorities.

He also stressed the importance of peace and security, assuring the people that his administration would continue to do everything within its capacity to tackle insecurity across the state.

The Governor said leaders must continue to make every possible effort to address challenges facing the people, while recognising that the ultimate outcome rests with Allah.

Responding to the requests presented by the delegation, Governor Radda assured them that the government would study the demands and work towards addressing them according to available resources and government priorities.

“I have heard what you have said. We will sit down and do everything possible to address these issues, either this year or subsequently,” he assured.

He reiterated his administration’s commitment to balanced development across the 34 local government areas of Katsina State.

Earlier, Hon. Bature Umar Masari, who led the delegation, said the group comprised prominent political leaders, youths, religious leaders and other stakeholders from Malumfashi and Kafur.

He said the delegation represented influential voices across the communities, from Malumfashi South to Kafur North.

Bature Masari declared the stakeholders’ support for Governor Radda, commending the administration’s interventions in road infrastructure, support for small and medium-sized enterprises and other sectors.

“From Malumfashi South to Kafur North, I want to assure you that our people are totally in support of you as the Governor of Katsina State,” he said.

He particularly acknowledged the loans, grants and other business support provided under the administration, saying the impact of the interventions was visible among the people.

“The successes you have recorded are speaking for themselves,” Bature Masari said.

He also recalled Governor Radda’s prayer during the APC primary election, when he sought Allah’s guidance on whether his emergence would be beneficial to the people.

Bature Masari assured the Governor that Malumfashi and Kafur stakeholders would continue to support his administration and work towards its success.

Also speaking, Hon. Shuaibu Wakili, Member representing Kafur Constituency in the Katsina State House of Assembly, said the delegation comprised political and community leaders with strong grassroots connections.

He said they would intensify awareness of the achievements of the Radda administration across their communities.

“We are going to do everything possible to create awareness and show the people who you are and what your administration has achieved,” Wakili said.

The lawmaker commended Governor Radda for prioritising youth employment and community security, particularly through the Katsina State Community Watch Corps.

He said the initiative had provided opportunities for youths while contributing to security efforts across Katsina State.

Wakili also commended the administration’s road infrastructure interventions, including projects under the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP).

“We have seen what you have done in Katsina State, and we appreciate the tremendous achievements recorded across different sectors,” he said.

On his part, Alhaji Yahuza Dayi, thanked Governor Radda for the projects and programmes implemented across the constituency.

He said the Bature Masari-led committee remained committed to supporting the administration and mobilising the people for its success.

Dayi appealed for the upgrading of the health facility serving Dayi and Malumfashi to a comprehensive health centre.

He also requested the construction of a road linking Yan Janku to Dayi and improved electricity supply to communities including Daneji and Hayin Jare, extending towards Malumfashi and Kafur.

The event was attended by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon. Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir; members of the Katsina State Executive Council; and other senior government officials.
