President Bola Tinubu has demanded greater efficiency in strategies and results in the ongoing fight against insecurity in the country.
Tinubu handed down this charge when he met with the heads of intelligence agencies and service chiefs at the state house on Tuesday.
The meeting which lasted more than an hour behind closed doors, was underway when the presidency announced the nomination of former Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa as the new Defence Minister.
General Musa’s appointment came barely hours after the resignation of Badaru Abubakar from the position, citing health concerns.
The Chief of Defense Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede, while speaking to newsmen after the meeting, said that “the meeting was quite engaging as the President gave new direction and directives intended to record better results in the fight against all forms of insecurity.
He promised Nigerians that the security agencies are coordinating better to ensure that Nigerians celebrate the Yuletide in peace.
