From Femi Mustaphain, in Kaduna

A fatal road crash occurred on the Kaduna-Abuja highway on Sunday, resulting in the deaths of four individuals.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Kaduna Sector Command confirmed the incident, which happened around 4:30 p.m. at Kakau, near Gonin Gora.

According to the Sector Commander, Corps Commander Iliyasu Tijjani, the crash involved a gas-laden tanker and a Toyota Hilux, both traveling towards Kaduna.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the Hilux, driven at high speed, rammed into the moving gas tanker from behind, causing the crash.

Five people were in the Hilux vehicle – four males and one female. Sadly, the four male occupants died at St. Gerard Hospital, while the female passenger is receiving treatment at the FRSC Clinic, Tollgate, Kaduna.

The Sector Commander attributed the crash to excessive speeding and dangerous overtaking, urging motorists to adhere strictly to traffic regulations and drive within approved speed limits to avoid further tragedies.
