From Femi Mustapha, in Kaduna

The Action Alliance (AA) political party has denied reports linking it to a group supporting the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Ondo State.

This denial was issued in a statement by the Action Alliance Chairman, Abdullah Olowokere, and was made available to the media in Kaduna today, Friday.

Olowokere clarified that the group known as the Progressive Network for Tinubu (PNT) has no affiliation with the Action Alliance at either the state or national level. He criticized the promoters of the PNT, emphasizing that, under the leadership of its national chairman, Hon. Adekunle Rufai Omoaje, the Action Alliance is an independent political party that is not influenced by external forces.

He described the assertion that the Action Alliance was involved in any agreements allegedly facilitated by the Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and the Ondo State chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Engr. Ade Adetimehin’s claims are erroneous and misleading.

The AA leader emphasized that the party is not entering into any alliances with pro-Tinubu campaign organizations, including the PNT or any other support group for Tinubu. He highlighted that under Hon. Omoaje’s leadership, the party remains focused, determined, and pragmatic.

Olowokere also warned that anyone claiming to represent the Action Alliance at meetings or forums is an impersonator and should be treated as such. He stated that the authentic leadership of the Action Alliance was not aware of such meetings and did not participate in them.

He specifically urged the Minister of Interior and the APC state chairman to thoroughly evaluate individuals representing the Action Alliance at any gatherings attended by them or their representatives. Olowokere reaffirmed that the Action Alliance in Ondo State is led by him, and any potential alliance would need to originate from the national executive council headed by Dr. Adekunle Rufai Omoaje.

Lastly, he called on the APC leadership in Ondo State and the presidency to be cautious of the activities of individuals posing as leaders and members of the Action Alliance in the state.
