Human rights activist and publisher of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore’s recent comments about Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas have sparked mixed reactions.

Citizenship Daily gathered that Sowore had, about a week ago, taken to his social media handles posting about governor Agbu Kefas’ alleged under-performance.

On his verifier Facebook account on Friday afternoon, he described the governor as “a disaster like a brakeless trailer crushing everything in its path” and claimed he’s run Taraba into “unmitigated disaster”.

Sowore claimed that Governor Kefas has failed to fulfill his campaign promises, particularly on education and infrastructure.

According to Sowore, schools in Taraba remain abandoned and underfunded, while roads are impassable.

He was reactint to some comments that “Taraba State is moving forward under the focused leadership of Dr. Agbu Kefas,” arguing rather that it is far from the truth.

Instead, he claimed the state is plagued by decaying schools, deadly roads, and a lack of basic infrastructure.

Sowore shared photos of students sitting on the floor during lessons, highlighting the deplorable state of schools in Taraba.

“Taraba State of Education in 2025, not 1945,” he wrote, expressing disappointment at the governor’s neglect of the education sector.

The activist also criticized the governor’s handling of infrastructure, saying that the only functioning road in Taraba is the one leading to the governor’s home.

“Across the state, communities are left stranded with broken and impassable roads,” Sowore stated.

However, Hon Emmanuel Bello, SA Media and Digital Vommunication to the governor has come out in defence of the governor.

Bello posted on his verified Facebook: “Gov Kefas isn’t the reason you failed to become president. He’s only 2yrs in office and he’s already done well for security, agriculture and education! Come and verify!”.

Also the Good Governance, Transparency and Accountability Watch (GGTAW) described his remarks as “reckless and defamatory”.

Evangelist Jesse Ephesians, a board member of the Taraba State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, also criticized Sowore’s comments, expressing disappointment and urging him to refrain from making insulting statements about public officials.

Another one, Honest Baraya Kirim said: “No peace for the wicked.” You can’t sow wahala and expect to chill in peace, nahhh. Omoyele Sowore you’re doing well!.

Henry Kheeng, “Omoyele Sowore I’m in Love with this naked truth”.

Our correspondent reports that Sowore’s post attracted over one million comments.
