The Kebbi Development Forum (KDF) has extended a congratulatory message to the Executive Governor of Kebbi State, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, and the entire people of Kebbi State on the occasion of the State’s 34th anniversary.

Dr. Saidu Abubakar
Chairman, Executive Council, Kebbi Development Forum, and Dr. Abdullahi Sani Mungadi, Secretary, Executive Council, Kebbi Development Forum conveyed the message in a statement jointly signed by both on Wednesday.

“This milestone offers us a good opportunity to reflect on the efforts and sacrifices of all sons and daughters of Kebbi, who have contributed to the growth and progress of our dear State,” the statement said.

It described the 34th anniversary of the founding of Kebbi state as “a moment to extend our sincere appreciation to all past Governors, Military Administrators, and His Excellency for the role played in shaping Kebbi’s journey to this point.”

In particular, the KDF commended His Excellency, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, for the notable strides his administration has made in just two years, especially in transforming the State Capital into one that truly reflects the dignity and aspirations of our people. His leadership has inspired hope and progress across many sectors.

“As we celebrate this anniversary, we pray to Almighty Allah to grant him continued wisdom, strength, and vision to steer Kebbi State toward even greater development.

“On our part, we wish to assure His Excellency Comrdare Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu that as a development focussed NGO, we are ever ready to partner with his administration on projects and programmes intended for developing Kebbi State and uplifting its people.

“Once again, congratulations to Your Excellency and to all citizens of Kebbi State.

” Long live Kebbi State!! Long live the Federal Republic Nigeria,” the KDF statement said.

Kebbi State was created 34 years ago on August 27, 1991 by the military government of General Ibrahim Babangida, splitting from the former Sokoto State.
Its capital city is Birnin Kebbi, and it is located in the northwest geopolitical zone of Nigeria.
Prior to its creation in 1991, the area was part of North-Western State (1967–1976) and then Sokoto State (1976–1991).
The state was formed as part of a larger exercise of state creation under General Babangida’s regime.
