The Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Kaduna State has vehemently denied the claims made by Mallam Nasiru Ahmad El-Rufai that the party’s structure in the state has collapsed and merged into the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition.
In a press release by State Chairman Adamu Idris, the party described El-Rufai’s statement as “spurious and false.”
The SDP pointed out that El-Rufai’s brief time in the party was marked by disruption and infighting. Since his departure, the party has reportedly experienced a restoration of order and unity.
The SDP assured the public that its structures remain robust in Kaduna State and that the party is committed to repositioning itself as a credible opposition force.
The party emphasized its dedication to promoting the true interests of Nigeria and rejected any attempts by El-Rufai to undermine its unity and purpose.
Furthermore, the SDP condemned El-Rufai’s actions, characterizing him as a “non-democrat, self-serving desperado, unrepentant bigot, and tyranny personified.”
The party vowed to continue advocating for democracy and good governance while rejecting any efforts to undermine its values and principles.
It is worth noting that Nasir El-Rufai and other political leaders from the coalition recently announced that they had dissolved the entire structure of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Kaduna State into the ADC during a strategic meeting held over the weekend. The leaders of the opposition group stated that this merger aims to foster unity within the coalition.
A statement released after the meeting by the coalition’s Publicity Secretary, Darius Kurah, indicated that the meeting was chaired by El-Rufai, who gathered key political figures and stakeholders from various parties.
