From Femi Mustapha and Edirin Robinson, in Kaduna

President Bola Tinubu has assured that his administration will ensure equitable development across all regions of the country, with no area left behind.

This assurance was made by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, at a two-day interactive programme on Government-Citizen Engagement organised by the Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation in Kaduna State.

Akume highlighted key achievements under the Renewed Hope Agenda, including economic reforms, education, health, security, infrastructure, and food security. He said the administration has implemented bold reforms to stabilise and grow the economy, including unifying the exchange rate and restructuring debt profiles.

The SGF also listed major projects, including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, Sokoto-Badagry super highway, ongoing rail projects, and housing initiatives. He emphasized that the Renewed Hope Agenda priorities include reforming the economy for sustained growth, strengthening national security, boosting agriculture for food security, unlocking energy and natural resources, and enhancing infrastructure and transportation.

Akume extolled the virtues of former Premier of Northern Nigeria, Sir Ahmadu Bello, describing him as a phenomenal being who promoted national cohesion and unity in Nigeria.

He also saluted the courage, sincerity, and patriotism of other leaders who have contributed to the country’s development.

The SGF highlighted the importance of patience and collective effort in achieving the agenda’s goals, and emphasized that the administration is committed to transparency, accountability, participation, responsiveness, equity, rule of law, and inclusivity.

Over 400,000 students in tertiary institutions have benefited from the Student Loan Programme, with an estimated N53 billion disbursed, Akume said. He expressed optimism that the Renewed Hope Agenda will drive economic growth, reduce unemployment, and ensure equitable wealth distribution.
