The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has disclosed that nine people have lost their lives in a lone auto crash along Jama’are – Azare Road in Bauchi State on Friday.

The State Sector Commander, FRSC Mr Apaji Boyi revealed this to newsmen on Friday,

He said 19 persons were involved in the fatal road crash and nine of them lost their lives at the spot while 10 others sustained serious injuries,

He said the accident involved one commercial vehicle with registration number KTG181 ZZ conveying the 19 passengers travelling from Gombe to Kano state. It occurred around 6:20 am.
The Commander said that it took the corps’ personnel barely 10 minutes to arrive at the crash scene to clear the site.
Boyi said the cause of the crash was over speeding, fatigue and loss of control,
He said that the injured had been taken to the Federal Medical Centre Azare for medical attention by men of the Federal Road Safety Corps and the corpses of the deceased were also deposited at the morgue of the same medical facility.
The Commander advised motorists to always be conscious of traffic rules and regulations while plying the roads, adding that the FRSC in Bauchi state would not relent in its sensitisation of motorists about the traffic rules, signs and regulations in the state.
