The Taraba State Special Taskforce Committee Chairman on Suspension of Mining and Deforestation Activities, Retired General Faransa has explained the collapsing and dismantling of multiple illegal revenue checking point across the state.
The retired General stated this while touring some illegal revenue checking points along the highway roads of Lau and Yorro Local Government Areas.
He said legal revenue checking points will be merged together to ascertain the numbers of legitimately approved revenue vendors in the state in the best interest of the state’s growth.
“When you have a designated revenue collection point, it will ease revenue collections warning those illegal revenue checking points and collectors to desist from the unwanting acts else they will regret it.
“Already government is mapping out modalities to tame excessive revenue vendors in the state to ascertain the explicit of their services in the overall best interest for the state development.
“I want to State here categorically that, any illegal federal taskforce
Committee operating in the state are hereby directed to leave the state with immediate effect until further notice to allow the state collect it revenue through the legitimate means”, he warned.
He however, averred that he is highly impressed with the revenue rise of the state promising to work harder in the area of road taxes and other revenue sources for the state to benefit from it.
He applauded Governor Agbu Kefas for creating the level playing field to operate in the best interest of the state.
