Tricycle Association Chairman, 97 others arrested over violation of environmental sanitation law in Nasarawa

The chairman of an association of Tricycle Riders, (names withheld) and 97 others have been arrested over alleged violation of monthly sanitation exercise in Nasarawa state.

Chief prosecuting officer on sanitation law violators, Abubakar Mohammed made this known after the monthly sanitation exercise in  Lafia on Saturday.
Giving analysis of the violators of the environmental sanitation law, Mohammed said most of the motorists were arrested in different local government areas of the state.
The prosecuting officer did not disclose the identity of the tricycle chairman, but explained that he is leading the association in one of the local government areas of the state.
He noted that the tricycle association chairman was among the task force members enforcing the exercise but was found among the violators.
Citizenship Daily observed that after the exercise, many motorists and their vehicles were held at the mobile court facing different charges.
Meanwhile, as one of the states forcast to experience flood this year, Nasarawa state government has embarked on intensive enlightenment campaign against the natural disasters.
Permanent secretary, state ministry of environment and natural resources, Garba Rosha stated this after monitoring the monthly environmental sanitation exercise in lafia.
The permanent secretary said already some of the residents leaving around flood-prone areas have heeded to the enlightenment by relocating from the areas.
