Prof. Jerome Nyameh, a governorship aspirant in Taraba State under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2023, has taken a significant step towards his future political plans.
Citizenship Daily reports that on Tuesday, he took to his social media handle to seek the opinion of his supporters on whether to contest for the governorship in 2027.
Nyameh, told our Correspondent Thursday in Jalingo that the responses are overwhelming, describing the outcome as “encouraging”.
He thanked supporters for taking their time to comment on his post, which generated 803 comments, 1k likes, and 57 shares within 48 hours.
Prof. Nyameh noted that he categorized the comments into themes, revealing a clear majority in favor of his governorship bid.
According to the breakdown, 623 people (approximately 77,6%) supported his run for governor.
“Thank you all for taking the time to comment on the post on my page, which I asked for your opinions.
“The breakdown also showed 108 people (13.6%) suggested I should run for the Senate, 41 people (5.1%) for the House of Representatives, and 31 people (3.7%) advised me not to contest.
“The results indicated strong support for my governorship ambitions, with a clear majority backing my bid for the top office in Taraba State.
“My decision to gauge public opinion reflects my commitment to understanding the desires of the supporters and the people of Taraba State.
“With the support of my followers, i poised to make a strong bid for the governorship in 2027, potentially marking a significant chapter in my political career,” he said.
