Senator Yari pays N216m registration/tuition fees for 2,055 sponsored Zamfara students

Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar representing Zamfara West Senatorial District has paid the sum of N216 million for the registration and tuition fees of the 2,055 sponsored students undergoing studies across 18 universities in the northwest zone.
The 2,055 beneficiaries were drawn from vulnerable households and orphans who could not afford access to Universities for further education from across the 14 local government areas of Zamfara state.
In a Press Briefing in Gusau Zamfara state capital on Sunday by the Publicity Secretary of the A.A Yari Scholarship Initiative, Ibrahim DanMalikin Gidangoga, said the 14-man Scholarship Initiative Committee has already paid all the needed funds for the registration and tuition fees of all the benefitting students across the 18 host Universities.
According to Gidangoga, 1,704 students were admitted into 16 Public Universities while 200 others got admissions into northwest zone University situated Sokoto state, another 50 students had secured their admissions into Istiqama University in Sumaila local government area, Kano state.
He further revealed that, 101 other benefitting Zamfara state indigenous students had been opportuned under the initiative to be admitted into Green Garden College of Science and Technology Gusau, in Zamfara state.
Gidangoga said that  the scholarship initiative has come to stay as it would sustained in the state by providing supports to vulnerable and orphans youths to acquire education, adding, “The number of beneficiaries would keep growing until Zamfara becomes educated state”.
