The Benue State Governor Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia has approved the appointment of Prof. Timothy Terseer Alabar as new Vice Chancellor of Father Adasu University, Makurdi, FAUM, formerly Benue State university, BSU.

Governor Alia who is the visitor to the university made the approval following due process leading to the appointment as was carried out by the Governing board and other relevant authorities. The appointment takes immediate effect.
Professor Alabar who replaced Prof Joseph Iorapuu whose tenure elapsed last year, before his appointment served as the Dean Postgraduate School, FAUM and hails from Ukum Local Government Area of Benue State.
The Professor of Marketing who started his academic practice with the Father Adasu University from 1999 till date, had previously held different positions of responsibilities including Dean, Faculty of Administration & Management; Acting Vice-Chancellor; Head, Department of Business Management, Acting Chairman Consultant Services, Director, Centre for Entrepreneurship Studies; Deputy Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences; Coordinator, Post Graduate Diploma in Management, Department of Business Management; Examination Officer, Post Graduate Diploma in Management.
While congratulating the new Vice Chancellor, Governor Alia charged him to provides visionary, ethical, and inclusive leadership that will advance academic excellence, and foster cutting-edge research, and nurture character as well as competence.
He said, “You must uphold the autonomy and integrity of the university, promote a culture of merit, innovation, accountability, and ensure prudent stewardship of human and material resources” .
