Nasarawa state command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps says it has arrested one Chuma Idi, presumably a younger brother to the President of Miyetti Allah Kaotal Hore, Bello Bodejo over alleged committal of kidnapping and possession of firearms in the state.
Public Relations Officers of the Command Jerry Victor made this known while parading the suspects in Lafia.
He said the suspected kidnappers were apprehended as a result of military onslaught in their hideout.
The NSCDC explained that the suspects were arrested through the combined efforts of the Nigerian Army.
He said one of the suspects, Hauwa Ali, confessed to have seen the wife of the younger brother to Miyetti Allah’s leader, Hannatu Chuma carrying 3 AK-47 into the bush, for which investigation was launched.
According to him, “the Nigerian Army 4 Special Forces Doma as a result of intelligence gathered, and that the military cordoned and searched Chuma Idris residence at Angwan Zaki Rugan Fulani in Garaku Kokona Local Government Area of the State. At the same time, Hannatu Chuma was not at the house in the village and no weapon found
“But preliminary investigation revealed that Hauwa Ali confessed to have seen the wife of Bodejo’s younger brother Hannatu Chuma carrying 3 AK47 rifles into the bush on Thursday 25th January this year and since then the woman did not return to the village”
The PRO said Chuma, the younger brother of the Miyetti Allah’s Leader who has been on the run during the search, is finally in the custody of the Command.
The command said it gathered that other suspects have perfected plan to abduct some wealthy farmers in Dungu village of Lafia Local government area of the state when the nemesis caught up with them.
He said the suspects Tanko Sadanu, Husseini Abdullah and Hamidu Jibrin, before their arrest, connived to kidnap a wealthy farmer in the area, Alhaji Atiku Ibiya and Alhaji Aji Kotso as well as Hassana Sadanu.
He also explained that suspected motorcycle snatchers and rapists were arrested by the command.
The PRO said the suspects would be charged to court after investigations while efforts are on to track and arrest on the run suspects.
Some of the suspects interviewed admitted to have committed the crime but attributed it to the work of devil, he said.
