The Senate has debunked reports that the it’s President, Godswill Akpabio’s seat was under threats of a possible impeachment .
The Senate President himself, during plenary dismissed the report that the Department of State Service had taken over the premises of the National Assembly to avoid the execution of the said impeachment, describing it as fake news.
But briefing journalists after plenary, the spokesperson of the Senate, Senator Yemi Adaramodu stated that Senator Akpabio was irremovable and untouchable .
According to him the reports was “fake, irresponsible, malicious, untruthful and only merits a place in the dustbin”.
He said that the Senate President has not done anything to warrant an impeachment, and anybody selling any impeachment idea should have a rethink.
Senator Adaramodu pointed out that the Senate President has been discharging his duties passionately and with the highest degree of integrity.
Corroborating him was the Chairman of the Northern Senators Forum, Senator Abdul Aziz Yar’Adua who stressed that at the level of the Northern senators , there was no such conversation.
Senator Yar’Adua said that the leadership of the Senate was stable and that all the senators are happy with it.
Adaramodu on his part had also boasted that nobody will remove or impeach the Senate President, insisting that it will amount to a big joke to contemplate the action.
